Madloch started his Sound Avenue journey back in July of 2011 and over a short six month stretch the label has quickly grown into a progressive house behemoth. The last release, the duo's 'Green Mountains' EP saw plays from John Digweed, Guy J and Dave Seaman to name just a few. The Sound Avenue imprint just continues to grow and push forward with positive momentum it seems. Their eighth release is out today and it sees Diego Poblets making his debut for the label. The Argentinean producer has been steadily building a solid discography with releases on Lowbit, Stripped, Baires and Baroque to name just a few. His newest studio production is entitled 'Parallels & Meridians' and it comes with remixes from Luis Bondio and Lank.
Diego's original mix gets under way with an enthralling groove that is immediately contagious. Rolling rhythms and tastefully subtle siren like synths waver through the composition building tension greatly. The track then breaks down to just the groove to further the anticipation, intricately placed melodic keys then fade over the proceedings to tease the senses just perfectly as the wailing synths heighten the over space a notch further. A perfect example of today's modern progressive house sound that Sound Avenue seems to have a real knack for showcasing perfectly.
The first remix is supplied by one of Argentina's brightest young stars. We've been raving about Luis Bondio for a while now and many others in the progressive house community are starting to take notice of this excellent producer. Over the last year Luis has built up an impressive discography with releases on Baires, Lowbit, Light Digital and of course Sound Avenue. Here he returns to Sound Avenue for his second appearance and a follow up to his remix of Yunta's 'Perpetuum' from January of this year. For his 'Parallels and Meridians' interpretation Luis has come with the goods yet again. Electrically charged synths descend over Luis' rock solid groove like sheets of effervescent energy as the track approaches the break. An excellent hovering like tension that floats throughout the composition sits as a constant during the drop as sections of glassy keys and washed out atmospherics accent the drop. The rolling groove is dropped back in after a sharp transition and record charges forward for a powerful melodic finish.
Hungarian producer Peter Golyan aka Lank has become one of the most loved producers in the new school of progressive house. His releases on Proton, Mesmeric, Perspectives and microCastle have been championed by the world's biggest DJs and he makes his Sound Avenue debut here with the final interpretation of 'Parallels & Meridians'. Peter has really turned in something sensational here with a complete overhaul of the original. He's taken the bouncy, driving mood of the original and transformed it into something grungy, trippy and deeply groovy. The additional beat patterns have given the piece just that extra bit of funk and groove which works so well with the psychedelic sheen that sits as the tracks backdrop. We think it's one of Lank's best productions in a long while and with it being #1 in our hype chart for 2 weeks that appears to be a unanimous consensus. Another superb package from Sound Avenue.
